Ukrainian traditional jewelry ribbon gerdan lesya ukrainka necklace copy

Lesya Ukrainka was one of Ukrainian literature's foremost writers, best known for her poems and plays. She was also an active political, civil, and feminist activist

This ribbon gerdan is my try to make a copy of Lesia Ukrainka's stripe gerdan jewelry. I took her black and white portrait as the basis for the reproduction. This portrait also depicted on the 200 hryvnia banknote. although I couldn't find a color photo, I'm sure at least 4 colors were used there. it was hard to tell the colors from the black and white photo. in my work I used black, white and red transparent beads, which are almost invisible.

- Czech glass beads (Preciosa 10/0)
- Ribbon 80% cotton (total ribbon length - 59 inches (150 cm)
